Vent: my phone storage hit 3GB free during a road trip and I panicked at a gas station in Ohio

I was two hours from home, tried to snap a photo of a weird deer, and the phone refused because my camera roll had 14,000 screenshots and deleted apps were still taking up space, so I sat in the car for 20 minutes deleting blurry duplicates and old memes before realizing I need a weekly purge or this happens again... has anyone else hit the wall mid-journey like that?

The "20 minutes deleting blurry duplicates" is so real, I've done that exact thing but in a Target parking lot. Idk how my phone still has 9,000 screenshots of random recipes and concert ticket info I'll never look at again. Honestly, the weekly purge is a good system, I just never stick with it past day two.
