A chat with a hostel owner in Lisbon changed how I see my work setup
Honestly, I was complaining about my laptop being slow for video calls. This older Portuguese guy running the place overheard and said, 'You worry about the tool, not the hand that uses it.' He showed me his ancient desktop that he still runs bookings on. Tbh, it hit me that I've been chasing gear upgrades instead of just making my current stuff work better. Has anyone else had a moment like that where a simple talk made you stop wanting new tech?

Totally. We fixate on tools, not skills.

What do you think we should focus on instead, @young.ryan?

Good tools can actually help build better skills though. The right software lets you learn by doing real work instead of just theory. It's not an either-or choice. We need both to actually get good at anything.
