My portable monitor died 3 weeks into a 6 month Thailand trip

I was set up in Chiang Mai working on a client report when the screen just went black, no warning. Turns out the USB-C port fried from a cheap power bank I bought at a night market. I'm using my laptop alone now, anyone else had gear fail far from home and had to improvise on the road?

Tbh that power bank was a blessing in disguise, welcome to the single-screen life.

Wait, is that what we're calling it now? I spent two days staring at my old phone like it was a brick before I even tried the new one. Honestly though, the single-screen thing makes you realize how much time you were just swiping back and forth for no reason. I used to check my laptop for every little thing, now I just grab the phone and move on. Kind of feels like a mental reset, like my brain finally gets a break from all that constant switching. Plus, not gonna lie, the battery lasting all day is a huge win on its own.
