Swapped my 14 inch laptop for a tablet and a folding keyboard in Lisbon

I used to haul a full laptop setup everywhere because I thought I needed real software for client work. Three months ago in Lisbon, I watched a guy run his whole freelance design business off a tablet at a pastelaria counter, so I tried it myself for a week. Now I leave the big machine at my apartment and carry about 2 pounds less around town. The keyboard takes getting used to, especially the missing number row, but I found a decent app for file management that syncs with my cloud drive. My back thanks me after walking up those hills, and I can sit at any tiny cafe table without feeling cramped. Has anyone else downsized their daily carry after testing it somewhere specific, or did you go back to a laptop for a reason I should watch out for?

Man, that really speaks to me... I tried something similar with my backpack setup last summer and felt so much lighter getting around. The missing number row drove me nuts at first too, especially when I had to punch in numbers on the fly. But honestly, the freedom of just grabbing a small bag and heading out beats the old clunky routine every time.
