The Tuesday I finally stopped hating my ex, it was the weirdest thing
Three months into the divorce, I was still angry every single day. Then last Tuesday, my ex showed up at my place in Columbus to grab the rest of his tools from the garage. I was bracing for a fight, but he just stood there and said 'you can keep the drill press, I never used it anyway.' No sarcasm, no jab. That little nothing comment broke something in me. I spent that whole evening crying, not because I missed him, but because I realized I'd been holding onto this story that he was a monster, and he wasn't. He was just a guy who didn't know how to talk about money, and I was a person who needed a partner who could. That Tuesday was the first day I slept without my jaw clenched. Has anyone else had a random, boring moment like that where the anger just kind of leaked out? How did you handle the grief that came after the anger faded?

Is it really that deep though? You cried over a guy telling you to keep a drill press. Sounds like you were already done being angry and just needed an excuse to let it go. Honestly, the grief part sounds like you're romanticizing the whole thing now. Divorce is just paperwork and stuff, not some spiritual awakening. Hope you feel better, but don't overthink it.
