Fell for that $200 'professional' paint sprayer hype and now I hate myself

I spent $200 on a Graco airless sprayer thinking I'd breeze through painting my living room in St. Louis last weekend. Ended up with overspray everywhere, clogged tips, and a finish that looked worse than a $10 roller job. Then I talked to a painter friend who swears by the cheap Harbor Freight ones for half the price. Is the extra money really buying you something, or is it just marketing fluff that makes us feel like pros? Has anyone else dumped cash on a tool that turned out to be a total dud?

Bought a high-end espresso machine once. Now I just make pour-over coffee like a normal person and pretend I'm fancy.

I sold that Breville dual boiler after three months. The backflushing and descaling schedule was like a second job I didn't sign up for. Pour over is just hot water and grounds (no fancy buttons to break). Plus my French press stays in the back of the cabinet, you know, just in case company shows up.

Did you read that Wirecutter article about how expensive machines just die faster?
