I finally heard a contractor in Phoenix call our work 'just slapping up boards'
I was grabbing coffee before a job and the guy ahead of me was telling his friend he saved money by having his crew 'just slap up the drywall' before the real trades came in. He said it like it was nothing, just filler work. It got me thinking about how many people don't get the skill in making seams vanish or getting a board flat. Made me want to explain the whole process next time. How do you guys handle it when someone acts like our part of the build is the easy part?

Yeah, had a homeowner once tell me to just "mud over it" like I was spreading peanut butter. They learn real quick when they try it themselves.

My buddy tried to fix a hole in his wall after watching a YouTube video. He ended up with this lumpy mess that looked like a toddler did it, and he had to sand for like two hours straight. He called me after just saying "never again" lol.

Man, they always find out it's way harder than it looks.
