A horse owner's cheap move backfired during a shoeing job
This client kept delaying trims to save a few bucks, so when I finally got to shoe the horse, the hooves were a mess. They were long and had deep cracks, making my job way harder. I had to spend extra time rasping and cleaning before I could even start on the shoes. Lesson learned: always push for regular visits, even if folks resist. Now I keep a quick before-and-after photo album on my phone to show new clients. Seeing the difference usually gets them on board with proper schedules. It avoids headaches and keeps the horses comfortable.

Neglect just builds a bigger fix-it bill later.

Showing those before-and-after pics is KEY, like @kellywilliams said, it hits different when they see the mess. Regular trims save so much pain and cash in the long run.

That whole "saving money" move probably cost more in the end for extra labor. Ever notice how trying to cut corners always seems to make the bill bigger later on? Your photo album idea is smart because some people just don't get it until they see the wreck. Makes you wonder what else they're cheaping out on, right?
