I keep seeing people say 'haul' clothes are just factory extras

My friend showed me a video claiming a $15 haul dress was leftover from a luxury brand, but the tag had a generic factory code I traced back to a massive fast fashion supplier in Bangladesh. Why do these stories keep spreading when a quick tag check proves them wrong? Has anyone else found a clear sign a haul item is NOT what people say it is?

Oh man, @the_claire, my friend bought a cheap jacket once and spent like an hour cutting off those little plastic tag connectors. It totally wasn't worth her time.

Small nail clippers work way better than scissors for those.

My cheap jeans last week had like eight of those plastic tag things. Pretty sure I spent more on bandaids for my cut up fingers than I saved on the sale price.
