Doesn't this happen with a lot of "pro" gear? I bought a special tool for my hobby that cost way too much, and a simple kitchen item works better. It feels like companies sell us fancy solutions for problems we already solved cheaply.

That's a rough price for a foam alternative. Most of the florists I know just use chicken wire and moss for the base now.

Saw a florist on YouTube who swears by using crumpled up plastic netting from produce bags. Works the same way for free.
