Warning: Finding freelance gigs feels way different than when I first began
Honestly, back in the day it was all about local ads and word of mouth. Ngl, now with all the online boards, it's a whole new game to stand out.

Funny how it's come full circle though, right? Sometimes just hitting up old local contacts cuts through all the online noise now.

The part about it coming "full circle" isn't quite right in my view. It's not that we're going back to the old way of doing things. It's more that we're mixing the old and new. We still have all the online noise, but now we're choosing to use local contacts on top of that, through our phones. It feels less like a circle and more like a new loop added to the old system. We're using new tools to reach old ways of connecting. So the noise is still there, we're just getting better at tuning it out sometimes.
