My phone's battery life tanked after the last update, so I tried a factory reset
I mean, I was down to like 3 hours of screen time last week, which was a huge drop. I backed everything up and did a full reset, and it's back to normal now. Has anyone else had to do this after a software update?

A factory reset seems a bit drastic...

Honestly, how else are you supposed to fix a bad update? My old phone did the same thing, battery drained crazy fast. I held off for a week but nothing else worked. The reset took an hour and was a pain, but it fixed the problem completely. Sometimes that's the only real fix when an update gets messy.

My Galaxy S8 got hit with an update years ago that made it overheat constantly. I tried clearing the cache and deleting apps for days. Nothing helped but a full reset. It was annoying to set everything back up, but the phone ran cool again. I used to avoid resets too, but that experience changed my mind.
