So I just hit 33,333 on my van's odometer and the gas pump clicked off at exactly $33.33

Ever notice how those weird number moments seem to happen in groups? My old truck hit 222,222 miles, and later that week my lunch was exactly $22.22. It got me looking for them, and then I started seeing them everywhere, like my coffee order being $4.44. It's just a fun little brain game that makes a normal day feel a bit special for a second.

It's a neat trick our brains play, like @matthew878 said. Once you start looking for a specific number pattern, you're bound to find it because you're ignoring all the times the numbers are totally random. The lunch price being exactly $22.22 is a fun coincidence, but the brain latches onto that and filters out the hundred other normal receipts.

Ever wonder if you'd still notice them if you weren't looking?

Remember my friend who swore she never saw that stuff? She texted me a photo of her car odometer at 111,111 miles last week... now she's spotting repeating numbers on receipts and clocks all the time. It's like once your brain gets the idea, it can't help but find the pattern. Kind of ruins the magic when you realize you're just looking for it.
