Shoutout to that gallery talk in Denver last month
I was at a small show for local album art, and the designer said she only uses two fonts per project now, max. I used to cram in four or five, thinking it looked complex, but seeing her clean work changed my mind. What's your go-to font limit for a poster or cover?

Yeah, that clean work she mentioned is the goal. I'm a two font guy now, three only if the project really screams for it.

But what if the project needs more voices? Two fonts can feel flat sometimes. A third can add just enough flavor without getting messy.

I mean, I did a three font thing once and it worked, kind of like what hannah_fisher58 said about only doing it if you really need it.

Stick to two fonts, maybe three if you really need it. Honestly, more than that just looks messy and confused. Clean design always wins.
