My friend and I can't agree on telling people about this isolated hot spring
I say we protect it from crowds, but she believes sharing brings needed money. We found it after a wrong turn and had the whole place to ourselves, it was awesome. Where do you all fall on this?

Back in Utah, we stumbled on a quiet canyon spring... just us for miles. We ended up telling the county parks office, and they added a small parking lot with a donation box. That money now pays for a volunteer to check the trail every weekend. It's not overrun, and it's cleaner than when we found it. Sometimes working with the system can keep a place special... without locking it away completely.

Have you thought about what happens if someone else finds it first and doesn't care at all? Keeping it a secret only works until it doesn't. If you share it responsibly with the right people, maybe a local guide, it could bring some tourist money to the area. That money could pay for a trail or even someone to pick up trash, which keeps it nice. A few careful visitors are better than one careless person who stumbles upon it and leaves a mess. Sometimes sharing with rules is the real way to protect a place.

Did you see that article about the secret hot springs in Oregon? The locals worked with park rangers to set up a small permit system, and it really cut down on vandalism.
