inMy old way of storing ranunculus corms was a total mess in my garage
Yeah, the garage is a death trap for those things. My buddy tried storing his dahlia tubers in a cooler full of wood shavings in his basement. Thought it was genius until mice found it. They chewed through everything like it was a buffet. He was so mad. Now he uses metal trash cans with tight lids for everything.

inI started using a cheap laser level to check my cutterhead pitch on the fly
Totally agree about the cheap tool being the right one. I once used a zip tie and a stick to fix a sensor bracket when the proper clamp broke. It held for months until we finally ordered the part.

inA regular at my shop in Tacoma told me my ribeyes were cut too thin for the price, so I switched to a full 1.5 inch thickness and sales jumped 20% in a week.
Wait, you're paying that much for steak? No way. That's crazy. I get mine from the butcher down the street for half the price. Thick cut too. You gotta shop around, man.

inMy old boss told me to never use a climbing line on a pine with that much pitch
That "sticky mess" feeling is the worst. I had a rope get totally coated once and regular cleaners just smeared it around. What finally worked for me was soaking the worst sections in a bucket of warm water with a good amount of dish soap, the plain blue kind. I let it sit for an hour to soften the sap. Then I used a plastic scraper, like an old credit card, to gently peel the big globs off. After that, a good rinse and letting it dry fully made it usable again. It's a pain but it can save the rope.
