Tbh, my cable bill confusion led me to understand dollar cost averaging
Honestly, I was just trying to figure out why my cable cost so much every month. Ngl, I sat down with all my bills and saw the price creep up over two years without me noticing. Tbh, that made me think about how small increases add up, like with investing. I started putting just the extra cable money into a low cost index fund each month, even if it was only twenty bucks. Honestly, seeing that small amount grow over time showed me how regular buys smooth out the market ups and downs. It clicked that I didn't need a lump sum to start, just consistency. Tbh, now I check my subscriptions yearly and move any saved cash straight to my investment account. Ngl, it's a simple fix that turned my budget headache into a beginner investing win.

Focus on cutting expenses first before playing with investments. Putting twenty bucks a month into a fund is basically pointless after fees and taxes. Just kill the subscriptions and bank the real savings.
