So my friend used to hate meal prepping every Sunday, called it a prison sentence. Then she tried making these fancy bento boxes, and now she's obsessed, texts me pictures of her avocado roses.

Actually the bento boxes are still meal prepping, just a more fun version of it. Sounds like your friend didn't really run from the duty part, she just found a way to make the work feel less like a chore. The duty was always there, she just dressed it up with avocado art lol. Sometimes you gotta trick yourself into liking the boring stuff.
