A simple cue transformed my overhead press stability.

I've been seeing a lot of folks at the gym really focusing on keeping their core tight lately. It got me thinking about my own overhead press, which always felt wobbly. Last week, I decided to try bracing my abs hard before pushing the weight up. The difference was instant, and the bar path felt straight and controlled. I managed to push out two extra reps on my working sets without any strain. It's such a small thing, but it made the lift feel so much more secure. Now I make sure to remind myself to brace every time I set up. It's cool how a tiny adjustment can lead to big gains in form.

Two extra reps just from bracing, phoenixmiller must be KICKING themselves for skipping it before.

How about bracing your glutes too... it made my overhead press even more solid. I started doing that last month and suddenly the whole lift felt locked in place. Like I could really push without losing tightness halfway up.

Wait, I always skipped that step but it makes total sense now.
