My Perseid meteor photos keep coming out with star trails
Last week, I went out to photograph the Perseid meteor shower with my Canon T6i and a basic tripod. I followed a guide that said to use ISO 1600 and a 20-second exposure. But when I checked the photos, the stars were streaking, and I barely caught any meteors. My location has some light pollution, which made the sky glow too much. I tried adjusting the aperture to f/2.8, but it didn't help much. I'm thinking maybe I need a tracker mount to avoid star trails. What do you all use for meteor photography? Any tips for dealing with light pollution?
