Serious question, saw a whole booth of AI prints sell out at the Cleveland flea market for $20 each while the painter next to them sold zero | AI Art Ethics - Vivisector
Oh man, I felt this one in my bones. I used to set up at a craft fair with my hand painted signs and watched a guy two tables down sell cheap printed mugs all day while I sat there twiddling my thumbs. What finally worked for me was leaning into the fact that my stuff was one of a kind, so I started painting LIVE right at my table instead of just displaying finished pieces. People stopped to watch, and once they saw the work going into it, a bunch of them actually bought something because they felt a connection to it. The prints will always win on price, no way around that, but you can win on the story and the experience if you give folks a reason to slow down.
