AI helped me understand my mom's old recipe notes

My mom passed away about 5 years ago and left behind a box of hand-written recipe cards. Most of them were in her messy cursive with weird abbreviations like 'pcs of btr' and 'sm amt of fl.' I'd take photos and try to figure them out but always gave up. Last week I uploaded about 20 photos into an AI tool that can read handwriting and translate shorthand. It recognized 'pcs of btr' as 'pieces of butter' and even figured out 'sm amt of fl' meant 'small amount of flour.' My mom used 'sm' for everything, salt, sugar, spice. The AI actually flagged that pattern and suggested it meant 'small' every time. I got her cornbread recipe working perfect after three tries. Has anyone else used AI to dig through old family stuff like this?

Man, with the kind of notes I leave myself even AI would probably just give up and refund me.

I leave myself notes that AI would give up on" that's actually hilarious. I read somewhere that some people's handwriting is so bad even OCR software just nopes out and returns a blank page. Do you write in shorthand or just straight up chaos?
