Just realized AI summaries often skip the big picture

I had an AI condense a long article for a club talk. It pulled out stats fine but left out why those numbers matter. Isn't it risky to trust AI with context-heavy stuff?

My club's climate report summary missed how melting ice connects to inland droughts. The AI just listed separate facts without linking causes to effects. You really have to fact-check those missing connections yourself.

Ever notice how AI summaries just feel kinda scattered? I tried one on a local traffic study and it totally missed how bridge repairs would back up my whole commute route. You really can't trust them to connect the dots for you.

Yeah, those missing connections are a huge problem, @simon_jackson81.

Exactly like Simon's climate report example where causes get disconnected from effects. I always run the AI summary against the original introduction and conclusion paragraphs now, those usually state the "so what." Also checking expert quotes in the full article helps, since AI often strips those key interpretation moments.
