Traded my grandma's cast iron skillet for a new basket model, been doubting it all month
She gave me that skillet in 2009 and I used it for everything, but the air fryer basket just does crispy chicken thighs in 15 minutes flat, so now I'm wondering if I made the right call or if I'm just lazy, anyone else swap out a family piece for convenience and feel guilty?
Man I used to be all about the cast iron life, seasoned mine for years and swore nothing could beat it. Then my sister got me an air fryer for christmas and I haven't touched that pan in months honestly. The chicken thighs come out with that crispy skin and I'm done in like 15 minutes instead of standing over a hot stove. It's not lazy, it's just a different tool for a different job I guess.
