inThat apology from the makeup guru felt copy-pasted until she name-dropped her mom's surgery
The 27 seconds where she brought up her mom's surgery was the only real moment in that whole video. Look, I get it, we all hate scripted apologies, but I'd rather have someone admit they messed up in a clumsy way than give me a perfect PR speech. If she had just said "I was wrong, here's what I'm doing differently" without the crying and the mom story, you'd be complaining she didn't show enough heart. You can't win with people like you. The tears felt real because they were the only thing she didn't rehearse. Maybe we should just stop demanding public apologies from strangers who owe us nothing and let them handle their business privately.

inThat chef's apology felt scripted until I saw the donation receipt
Ugh, honestly I read that the other way. If he was already quietly donating before the heat came down, that kind of proves he only does good when no one's watching, and that's way easier to fake than a last minute panic donation.
