Was shocked to find out my air fryer uses less power than my microwave
I was looking at my electric bill last night and noticed it jumped. So I googled around and found out my air fryer pulls about 1500 watts while my microwave hits 1800. Found that on an energy savings site called EnergySage. Has anyone else checked their appliance wattages and been surprised?

None of the stuff in my house uses what the sticker says it uses.

Man I had this old microwave that claimed it pulled 1200 watts but I plugged it into a kill-a-watt meter once and it barely hit 900. The sticker also said something about "peak power" which I guess means it might hit that number for like half a second before it catches fire. My buddy works at an appliance repair shop and he told me half these companies just copy specs from each other without even testing. The whole system seems like a joke if you ask me.

Same here @danielm80. I swear half the wattage numbers on stuff are just guesses. It's like they put whatever looks good for the sale.
