Just realized I wasted $150 on a 'universal' wireless range extender that never worked right
I tried it on three different jobs last month and had to pull it out every time because the signal kept dropping. Anyone have a reliable brand they actually trust for tricky layouts?

Been there, it's the worst. Those cheap universal ones are total junk for real work. You need a proper mesh system, not a single extender. I've had good luck with the TP-Link Deco units on some really weird floor plans. They just work without all the dropouts.

My old plaster walls wrecked my first mesh system too. The Deco units kept dropping connection in my back bedroom. I ended up running a single long Ethernet cable to a cheap access point in that room, and it's been solid for two years. Sometimes the wiring in the house itself is the real problem no router can fix.

What about the old wiring messing with the signal though?
