Took 14 months to realize wireless sensors beat hardwired in old brick buildings
Ran a retrofit job in a 1920s row house last month where drilling through plaster for a hardwired loop took 3 hours per floor, but the wireless door contacts I finally switched to finished the whole place in a single afternoon, so why did I waste a year fighting conduit and old lath?

Yeah, if that number sounds crazy, you've never had to deal with a loop that's been patched over three different contractors. Those can take forever because every splice and cable tag is a mess. I've seen one take closer to four hours just because someone had to trace half the lines by hand. Best thing you can do is ask for a walkthrough of the panel before they start, so they can point out where the time actually goes.
