Deleted my TikTok after seeing the same recipe 14 times in one hour

Last Tuesday I sat down to look up a simple pasta dish. Scrolled for maybe 60 minutes and the exact same cooking video looped back 14 times, just with different background music. That's when I realized the algorithm wasn't suggesting things I liked, it was testing which version of the same content kept my thumb still. I deleted the app that night after 3 years of daily use. Now I'm on YouTube Shorts and the repetition is way less aggressive, but I still see the same talking head in every other video. Has anyone else tracked how many times a single piece of content repeats in one session?

And honestly that tracking thing is wild once you start noticing it, because the platform is basically running A/B tests on you in real time to see which thumbnail or hook keeps you frozen. I did the same thing a couple months back and wrote down timestamps, and the same core clip showed up almost a third of my session with different intros slapped on it. The scary part is these apps have gotten so good at hiding it that you feel like you're getting variety when you're really just getting the same dopamine hit repackaged.
