Honestly, I spent $200 boosting a post about a local charity event and the algorithm basically hid it from my own followers.

Ugh, same thing happened to me. Paid to promote a fundraiser and my regulars never even saw it. Feels like they just take your money and run.

The thing nobody talks about is the timing of when you boost. I noticed if I boost a post right when it goes live, it shows to way more bots and random people than if I wait like 3 or 4 hours after posting. Let the organic reach do its thing first, then boost what's already getting some traction. That way the algorithm sees people actually engaging and shows it to more real humans instead of just dumping it into the void. Also check if your fundraiser link triggers any spam filters. Sometimes those links get automatically deprioritized because they look like phishing attempts to the system.

Honestly @xenas16, it's just how the algorithm works sometimes, not a total scam lol. They're trying to reach new people, which is what you paid for. Maybe try boosting to friends of followers next time, it's cheaper and hits your actual crowd.

Yeah, that "take your money and run" feeling is so real. I switched to boosting posts only to my current followers and their friends, not a broad audience. Way cheaper and my actual community finally saw it. Also, posting the link in the first comment, not the post itself, seemed to help it show up more.
