My skeptical take on TikTok trending sounds finally broke after 3 weeks of testing

I always thought using trending audio was just a cheap trick, not real algorithm help. But I ran a test with 10 videos using random sounds vs 10 with trending ones on my alt account. The trending ones got 4x more views in the first 48 hours, even with the same content. Now I check the trending sounds list every morning before posting. Anyone else have a moment when you had to admit the algorithm was right about something?

Used to think trending sounds were just lazy copycat stuff. But I ran a similar test myself and yeah my numbers were way better with trending audio too. Felt dumb admitting it honestly. Now I check the list every day just like you said.

Following trends just makes your content blend in with everyone else's.

Trends aren't just about copying though... they're like a conversation starter. Once you use the trending audio you can still add your own spin on top of it and people actually see your stuff first.
