Customer in Tucson handed me a $20 tip and a note about her late husband's dryer
I was out on a call last Tuesday in Tucson fixing a dryer that kept shutting off after 10 minutes. The homeowner, a woman named Ruth, watched me swap the thermal fuse and then handed me a $20 tip plus a note her husband wrote years ago about that same machine. She explained he had fixed it himself for 30 years and she kept his notes in the laundry room like a manual. I still have that note in my truck, and it made me think about how much of this job is really about the people, not the parts. Does anyone else keep stuff customers give them, or am I the only one with a glovebox full of thank you cards?
