I just read that a standard washing machine drum can spin at over 1000 RPM, which is faster than a helicopter's main rotor at cruise speed.
Found that wild comparison in an old service manual for a Whirlpool direct drive model I was working on yesterday, and now I can't un-hear it every time a spin cycle starts up.

That 1200 RPM is nuts. Does the manual say how much force that puts on the bearings and the tub itself?
