I used to think you had to replace every single thermal fuse that tested open
A veteran tech in my old shop showed me how to check the high limit thermostat first, because a lot of times that's the real cause and the fuse just blew as a safety. I saved a customer in the Oakwood complex over a hundred bucks last Tuesday by fixing the limit and resetting the fuse instead of ordering a new one. Do you guys ever try to reset a thermal fuse, or is that just asking for a callback?

Wow, that's a smart way to save money and avoid unnecessary parts!

Didn't you used to just swap them out too?

My cousin did that once and it totally bricked his whole system.

Totally get what @rodriguez.mia is saying, my old laptop never turned on again after I tried swapping the RAM myself. The pins got bent and it was just a lost cause, had to buy a whole new one. Learned that lesson the hard way lmao.
