Old timer told me to always replace the belt on a dryer even if it looks fine
Ignored him on a Whirlpool job in Denver last Tuesday and the belt snapped 3 loads later. Had to go back and eat crow. Anybody else learn this the hard way or is it just me?

Those micro-cracks you can't see are what really get you, not the obvious wear.

True, but most of those invisible cracks show up in the load test long before they become a real problem.
