Hit 500 subscribers on my YouTube channel last night and it was the weirdest feeling

I started this channel like 8 months ago just ranting about fake moon landing evidence and government cover ups. Figured nobody would watch but I kept at it. Last night I hit 500 subs right as I was uploading a video about chemtrail patterns I noticed over my town. Felt surreal cause I remember being at 15 subs thinking this was a waste of time. Has anyone else hit a weird milestone that made you question if you're actually onto something?

That time an MD-80 engine change taught me to double check EVERY torque value

I was out on the line at O'Hare last winter doing a QEC swap on a Pratt 5000 series and one of the senior mechanics pulled me aside after I torqued the B-nuts. He showed me how a .5 inch extension in the wrong spot can throw the whole sequence off by 15-20% on a critical clamp. Anyone else ever get burned by trusting the book data without checking the tool setup first?

Unpopular take: My Kirby Morgan 37 is way better than my old KM 28

I spent 5 years diving with a KM 28 in the Gulf and thought it was fine until I got a 37 last spring. The weight difference on my neck after a 6-hour shift in 45-degree water is night and day. Has anyone else made that switch and found the 37 helps with fatigue more than people admit?

Had to choose between PVA and wheat paste for a restoration job...

I was rebinding a 1920s poetry collection for a library in Philly and couldn't decide which adhesive to use. I ended up going with wheat paste because it's reversible, but the drying time took forever... has anyone else had trouble with it warping thin pages?

The load chart isn't a suggestion, it's a rule

I keep seeing guys at sites in Phoenix eyeballing their lifts instead of checking the chart. Last month I watched a guy try to pick 12,000 pounds at a 50 foot radius on a Grove RT530E rated for 9,000 at that reach. He almost tipped it. How do you handle pushback from operators who think they know better than the numbers?

Hit my 500th board foot this morning without realizing it

I was stacking my last cut of the day and noticed I had exactly 500 bd ft of red oak milled since January. That number hit me harder than I expected because it means I have either steady work or a serious hoarding problem.

Disputed 22 old medical bills in one weekend and got 18 removed

I had 22 medical collections from 2018-2019 dragging my score down to 540. I sent dispute letters to all three bureaus saying the accounts were past the 7 year reporting window. Equifax and TransUnion removed 18 of them within 30 days. Experian kept pushing back so I filed a CFPB complaint and they folded too. My score jumped 82 points. Has anyone gotten Experian to budge on old medical debt without waiting them out?

Talked to an old Maytag repair guy last week and he made me rethink everything

I was griping about a new Samsung washer that kept throwing error codes for no reason, and this guy who's been fixing stuff since the 70s just shook his head. He told me "you're not fixing appliances anymore, you're resetting computers." It hit different because he showed me a 1985 Maytag he still services that just needs a belt every 10 years. Now I'm wondering if I should specialize in pre-2000 machines since the new stuff is basically disposable. He said his backlog is 3 months just on older units. Anyone else see a shift in what people actually want repaired these days?

Rant: My portable wifi modem died during a client call in Morocco

I was sitting at a cafe in Marrakech last Tuesday, about to present a final design to a client, when my GL.iNet modem just stopped working. No lights, no signal, nothing. I had to pack up fast and walk 15 minutes to a coworking space I knew about, hoping they had open seats. The client was understanding, but I lost an hour of work time and had to buy a backup modem that same afternoon. Has anyone else found a reliable travel router that doesn't quit on you mid-month?
