inSwitched from a standard 3/8 impact to a Milwaukee mid-torque for lug nuts
Honestly, I still grab my old breaker bar first. Those impacts are great until you get a truly seized lug. Had one last week where the impact just hammered and heated everything up. A long pipe on the breaker bar and it came loose with steady pressure. No risk of rounding anything off. The power tools are fast, but sometimes the simple way is just more reliable.

inJust realized I've been running my 8-inch cutterhead backwards for like, three months.
Yeah, wesleyflores is right, it's always the simple stuff. You get so deep into the problem you miss the obvious fix right in front of you. That kind of thing just eats up your whole day for no good reason. Makes you feel like an idiot, but honestly it happens to everyone.

inHonestly, seeing a weld fail on a 600psi boiler in Detroit made me rethink my whole approach to pre-heat.
Reminds me of a bridge repair near me. They rushed the concrete pour to beat a holiday weekend. Whole section had to be redone by Thanksgiving.

inI thought the 'life alert' style buttons were a scam until my mom fell in our kitchen in Akron.
Wow, my neighbor's story was just like that!

inHey, I keep seeing people mess up their sleeping bag storage after trips
Yeah, that "letting the fibers decompress" part is key. I drape mine over a door in a spare room, the one with the ceiling fan. I'll run the fan on low for a whole afternoon. Even if it feels dry from the outside, the inner loft needs to air out.
