When a client compared their fridge hum to a bee swarm
In my experience, I was fixing a loud refrigerator at a house. The owner said the noise was just like a bee swarm, which made me laugh but also helped pin down the fan problem. Take this with a grain of salt, but do you often hear funny ways people describe appliance sounds?

Oh man, the bee swarm is a good one. Did you ever get someone say their washing machine sounds like a whale song? I had a client last year who was sure their old dryer was making a foghorn noise every time it turned. It was just a worn belt squealing, but her description was spot on. People come up with the best stuff.

Heard a customer once say their air conditioner was groaning like a tired bear. Another time, my neighbor swore his car engine was singing opera when it idled. It's wild how our minds turn random noises into stories. Makes you appreciate the weird ways people describe stuff.
