Switched to static rigging and it changed our removal game

Saw a trend online about using static ropes for tricky cuts. Tried it last month on a big elm near a fence. The rope didn't bounce like dynamic systems do. Made the whole drop way more controlled and safe.

Seriously? Static lines sound way riskier for big drops. That lack of stretch means way more shock load if something goes wrong mid-cut. Feels like you're trading control for a much bigger snap-back danger.

Like choosing control over safety in so many things.

Stella121 has a point about shock load, but proper gear handles it fine.

My buddy Jake took a hard fall on a static line last year. He still says Stella121 is right about that snap-back feeling like a truck hit his harness. Proper gear helps, but it doesn't make the physics any less scary.
