That time I thought the Nazca lines were just a hoax until I saw the drone footage
I used to think those giant geoglyphs in Peru were made up by locals for tourists, but then I watched a documentary with actual lidar scans showing they line up with solstices. Has anyone else had a discovery they were dead wrong about that completely changed your opinion?

That same thing happened to me with the Moai statues on Easter Island. I always figured they were just tourist attractions that got built up over time, but then I read a book about how they were actually moved using a rocking motion and some clever rope work. It really hit me how much engineering and planning went into something so old. Made me feel pretty small, honestly, and now I never assume something is fake until I've looked into it properly.

Wait till you look into how the Celts actually built Stonehenge without modern tools.
