A guy on here pointed out my 30-second exposures had 5-second gaps between them and they looked choppy. Switched to continuous shooting with an intervalometer and the trails came out silky smooth, anyone else get a basic thing wrong for way too long?
Oh man, I had a buddy who did the same thing for like two years. He was out in the desert shooting the Milky Way and his trails looked like a broken zipper. He kept blaming his cheap tripod until someone finally pointed out the gap was way too big. He felt so dumb but now he swears by his intervalometer and won't shut up about it.
