Read a forum post claiming Hubble images are 'overprocessed' and it made me laugh

Some guy on Reddit said Hubble photos are basically fake because NASA tweaks the colors. I tried explaining that raw space data doesn't look like anything to the naked eye, you have to stretch the signal to see the detail. He called me a shill. Ever tried explaining basic image processing to someone who thinks they're smarter than astrophotographers?

Yeah, cause obviously raw photon counts make for a much better postcard.

Feel you, some folks just want to argue instead of learn.

My neighbor Sara just got into a fight on the Nextdoor app about whether the new crosswalk sign is too bright at night, and it turned into a two hour argument about city budgets and light pollution. People get so locked into proving they're right that they forget there's a real person on the other side. @pat_murray53 's comment kind of shows that same thing even if they're being sarcastic about it. I mean, it happens all the time at work too when someone asks a simple question and someone else turns it into a debate about the whole system. idk maybe it's just me but it feels like everyone is always ready to fight instead of just talking.
