Shoutout to the guy who corrected my Andromeda photo last month. He was right.
I was at a dark sky site in Maine. Thought my Andromeda shot was perfect. Someone pointed out the core was overexposed. I spent weeks tweaking my stacking method. Now the detail in the dust lanes is insane. Has anyone else had a random stranger fix their work?

Yeah that overexposed core thing is a CLASSIC amateur mistake, every single one of us makes it.

Huh, yeah I used to hate unsolicited advice but that changed my mind too.

Figured the only unsolicited advice I ACTUALLY needed was the kind that came with a diaper change and a toddler throwing a tantrum. Once you've had a kid tell you your parenting style is "cringe" while you're wiping banana off the ceiling, you realize most advice is just noise anyway. Now I just nod and smile when someone tells me how to raise my kids, then mentally file it under "things to laugh about later." Honestly, the only advice I really hate now is the kind that sounds like it came from a motivational poster.
