Three years ago I tried to photograph the Perseids near Boise and it was a total bust

Last August, drove out to Bruneau Dunes State Park around midnight with my old Canon Rebel. Set up my tripod, got everything ready, and then a convoy of pickup trucks rolled in with their headlights on full blast. They sat there for an hour, doors open, blasting country music while my eyes adjusted to basically nothing. I got maybe two usable shots out of four hours of trying. Has anyone else dealt with light pollution from people who just don't get the whole dark sky thing?

COUNTRY music? At a DARK SKY park? That's unbelievable.

Figured I'd show up in my work boots to really complete the vibe, huh?

I mean, I get that it's annoying but is it really that deep? You still got two usable shots out of it. People go to parks to hang out and have fun, they're not all there for astrophotography. Maybe just pick a spot farther from the parking lot next time or go on a weeknight when it's less crowded.
