Appreciation post: My uncle Rick in Spokane talked me out of a $400 gear set for my daily driver
I wanted 4.10 gears for my old Tacoma and my uncle Rick, who has been turning wrenches in Spokane for 30 years, asked me one question: how often do you actually tow? I said basically never, so he told me to save the cash and skip it. Six months later my highway MPG is still decent and I did not hate every drive, so he nailed it. Anyone else here gotten talked out of a gear change and been glad about it?
