Remember when we all just wrote 'a man walks into a bar' jokes?

I was stuck on a story for a week, trying to make a perfect first line. My friend from the Tuesday writing group in Tacoma said, 'Just write the second line first.' I tried it, and after three attempts, I had a whole page. Starting with 'He knew he shouldn't have come back' forced me to figure out the 'why' immediately. It broke the blank page freeze every time. Has anyone else found a weird trick like that to get past a specific block?

After a year of daily use, I'm convinced most phone camera talk is way too picky.

Honestly, I've been using my mid-range phone's camera for everything from family pics to product shots. Tbh, after seeing all the hyper-focused talk on minor specs, I think they overlook how good it is for real life. Ngl, hitting 10,000 photos without feeling the need to upgrade feels like a win. Most folks would say I'm missing out, but for my needs, it's more than enough.

Why does nobody talk about posting client photos without asking?

Look, if a client hires you for photos, they probably expect you to use them for your portfolio. It's how we show our work and get more jobs. The photos are meant to be seen, and holding them back helps no one. Plus, if the photos are really good, it's free promotion for the client too. Asking for consent every single time just slows things down. In many cases, it's just understood that great results get shared.
