Blew a trailer bearing 40 miles outside Flagstaff and my spare kit saved the trip
Hauling a skid steer up to a job site near Flagstaff when I heard a grinding noise around mile marker 201. Pulled over and the trailer bearing was smoking, grease everywhere, and the hub was too hot to touch. I had a full spare hub kit in the toolbox that I threw in there about two years ago and never touched, and it took me about an hour on the shoulder to swap it out. A state trooper stopped and actually helped hold the flashlight, which never happens. That kit cost me like $60 back then and it turned a tow bill into a parking lot repair. What spare parts do you all keep in the truck that you've actually used and not just hauled around forever?

Spare hub kit is the real MVP of roadside repairs. Mine sat under the back seat for three years before it saved my butt outside Kingman. Cheap insurance beats a $400 tow every single time.
