Blew $190 on a "lifetime" alignment plan at a chain shop in Dallas

Two years back I bought the lifetime alignment deal at one of those big tire chains in Dallas for $190, thinking I'd save cash since I keep my trucks forever. Turns out it only counts at that one store, and every visit they "found" something else wrong, tie rods, ball joints, all stuff I'd already checked myself. The last tech told me my camber was off by 0.3 degrees, which is basically nothing, and pushed a $600 parts job. I do my own alignments with string and a level now, takes me 40 minutes in the driveway. Anybody got a shop in the DFW area that does honest work without the upsell script?

Back when these plans first showed up I figured the math worked out if you kept a truck long enough, like 3 or 4 alignments and you're even. What changed my mind was watching a buddy go through almost the exact same deal at a Firestone up in Plano, and they basically held his truck hostage with the "we can't let it leave the bay like this" line until he paid for parts he didn't need. The plan isn't the scam so much as the plan is the bait, they get you in the door cheap and make it back on the upsell every single visit. Doing your own with string and a level is the real flex, I've seen guys get within a tenth of a degree that way.
