Realized I'd been bleeding brakes wrong for 8 years after a $6 tool showed me
I was doing a brake job on my neighbor's 2012 Civic in my driveway last Saturday and he handed me one of those little one man bleeder bottles with the check valve in the hose. I'd been doing the old pump and hold with a buddy since trade school and always wondered why my pedal felt a little soft on some cars, turns out air was creeping back past the threads on the bleed screw every time I let off. How do you guys handle bleeding when you're working solo, do those vacuum pumps at Harbor Freight hold up or should I just get a pressure bleeder?
