Blind bought a $210 pin crimper at a swap meet in Wichita and it saved my whole week
So I'm at this little swap meet out by the airport in Wichita two weekends back, mostly looking for nothing, and this old boy has a crimper sitting on his table with no label and no box, just a tag that says $210 firm. I laughed at him at first because that's a lot for a tool with no name on it, but he swore it was a Daniels and let me squeeze it once. My hand knew before my brain did, the thing ratchets smooth and stops dead when it's done, no guessing. I bought it thinking I'd wasted two hundred bucks, then Monday I had to redo a whole rack of cannon plugs on a King Air and every single pin came out perfect on the first squeeze, which never happens for me. My old $40 crimper used to pull pins out of the barrel maybe one in ten, and that one bad pin is what eats your afternoon. Now I'm trying to figure out if I got lucky or if this thing is really that much better. Any of you run a high dollar crimper like this, or am I just talking myself into the purchase?
