Bought a used spectrum analyzer off eBay and got a unit that only shows noise floor
Found an Anritsu on eBay for $400. Looked clean in the photos. Hooked it up to test a VOR receiver antenna and the thing just shows garbage across the whole band. Tried a known good signal generator and still nothing. Learned the hard way that you need to ask for a recent calibration cert before buying test gear used. Anyone else get burned on eBay avionics tools?
